999 Emergency Services is an emergency call center run by the Bangladesh Police. From here emergency police, emergency fire service and emergency ambulance services are provided. Anyone from any part of the country can avail these emergency services by calling 999. Bangladesh Police under the Ministry of Home Affairs launched this call center service on 12 December 2016 with the objective of providing emergency services to citizens of all walks of life. The call center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 999 is a toll free number. The caller does not have to spend any money to call this number.
Currently, more than a hundred agents are working in this call center to provide emergency services. There are plans to increase this number in the future. Besides, plans have been taken to provide police, fire service and ambulance services as well as other services.
